Do you leak a little when you laugh, cough or exercise?
Or any of these. Read them slowly: if you find yourself nodding at one, this page was written for you.
-
You laugh hard, and cross your legs.
Leaks when you laugh, cough, sneeze, run or lift something heavy. That moment when your body lets you down at the worst possible time. It is called stress incontinence. You do not have to keep avoiding those moments.
-
You know where every toilet is before you leave the house.
Sudden, unbearable urgency, known as urge incontinence, should not be organising your day. It has a name, a cause and a treatment.
-
Your night is interrupted two or three times. Always for the same reason.
Waking up tired because the bathroom breaks up your sleep, nocturia, is not something to accept as normal. Sleeping through the night again is possible.
-
Your body did something extraordinary. But something was left unfinished.
After pregnancy or childbirth the pelvic floor is sometimes left weakened, known as postpartum pelvic floor weakness. These are among the cases that respond best to treatment.
-
«It is only a few drops,» you tell yourself. And have been telling yourself for months.
You have kept quiet out of embarrassment, or because you thought it was normal. It is not, and dealing with it early is usually simpler.
-
You avoid the intimacy you used to enjoy.
Leaks or discomfort during sex are a valid and common reason to come and see us. We deal with it with complete respect and no taboos.
You are not alone. It is the most common reason women come to our clinic. More than 1,300 have already been through here, and what follows on this page is the route they took.
Now imagine a different Tuesday. You wake up, and by mid-morning you realise you have not thought once about where the toilet is. You laugh hard and all you feel is the laugh. You sleep through the night.
That distance is not your fate. Almost always it is a pelvic floor nobody assessed in time. And it can change.
Our treatment
The three causes
Your leaks do not come from one place
They come from three invisible fronts that feed each other. Treating only one, which is what almost the whole market does, leaves the root of it untouched. That is why we assess all three in your first session.
Muscular factorPelvic floor weakness

With the years, pregnancies or hormonal change, this “hammock” of muscle loses strength and stops holding pressure. It is the most common source of leaks. A study of 371 women in La Serena, Chile, recorded 45.01% prevalence of urinary incontinence in women over 30 (Medwave, 2020 · n=371, La Serena).
Hormonal factorDeclining oestrogen

During the climacteric and menopause, falling oestrogen reduces collagen and changes the tissue of the intimate and urinary area. This is the perspective that cannot be missing.
Metabolic factorVisceral fat

Excess visceral fat pushes down on a pelvic floor that is already weakened. It is associated with more frequent leaks, and almost nobody measures it. We work on this in depth in Fat Burner™.
What improves appearance does not fix the problem.
Many women come here after an aesthetic vaginal treatment. Those procedures work on tissue, while leaks also depend on the strength of the muscle that holds continence, on abdominal pressure and on the hormonal factor. That is why it is worth assessing all three before deciding.
Aesthetic approach (HIFU / laser)
Works on the appearance and quality of the tissue. It does not train the muscle that holds continence or measure how it functions, so that front is left unaddressed.
→ Acts on the tissue
The Spark functional approach
Works all three fronts at once, muscle, visceral fat and the hormonal factor, so that the improvement rests on your own musculature and holds with spaced maintenance and your own training, rather than with open-ended aesthetic sessions.
→ Acts on the function
The Eleven PelviX™ programme
Pelvic floor physiotherapy, with a Swiss chair that complements the exercises
Spark Wellness is a clinical centre for pelvic floor physiotherapy in Vitacura: we treat stress, urgency and mixed urinary incontinence without surgery. The chair is one part of the treatment: the core is pelvic floor physiotherapy, one-to-one with your physiotherapist.
How the PelviX™ technology works and why we use it →
What urinary incontinence is and how it is treated without surgery →
Functional magnetic stimulation of the pelvic floor is a non-invasive treatment in which a magnetic field triggers contractions of the pelvic floor muscles without the person undressing.
Ten sessions over 45 days combining specialist physiotherapy with functional magnetic stimulation of the pelvic floor (PelviX™), with objective measurement on entry and at the close of the programme, so that improvement is a figure rather than an impression.
Seated, fully clothed and pain-free
The PelviX™ magnetic field passes through clothing and activates the pelvic floor fibres. No preparation beforehand and no invasive procedures. It complements your physiotherapist's work; it does not replace it.
Two therapies in every session
- 40 min of specialist physiotherapy with manual technique
- 20 min of PelviX™ EMF
Plus two nutrition consultations to keep in check the visceral fat that presses on your pelvic floor.

This problem really does have a solution here.”Paula Morales
“At Spark I had an assessment, a gynaecology consultation and 10 physiotherapy sessions. My experience was excellent. Nicole looked after me, very warm, and explained everything I had to do. […] Before coming I had a great deal of trouble with incontinence. Within a few sessions the problems started to disappear.”Angélica Munita
“Excellent care from the whole team. […] Very professional, technological support with clear explanations. You can see progress thanks to good planning. […] There is support throughout the treatment, both in the session and over WhatsApp.”Ana María Cruz Vergara

The questions people ask us before booking
Direct and to the point, the way we like to answer.
Have a specific question? Message us on WhatsApp and we will gladly point you in the right direction.
What exactly is the trial session?
A full session in which you try the PelviX™ technology, we measure your body composition, we assess your control with the Alonea measurement and, with that information, we map out a clear action plan with you for the next steps.
Are the session and the treatment reimbursable?
Yes. We issue an itemized receipt with the service code at every visit, so you can claim reimbursement from your Isapre or insurer. The trial session is reimbursed the same way: come with a doctor's order and claim it from your Isapre with our receipt.
What is PelviX™ and what does it feel like?
It is a Swiss functional magnetic stimulation technology that reaches up to 25,000 contractions per session (PelviPower specification), like taking your pelvic floor to the gym. You sit in the chair fully clothed, with no pain and no preparation. It is one part of the treatment: the other 40 minutes of each session are one-to-one pelvic floor physiotherapy, which is what holds the result. In your trial session you try it yourself.
I had leaks after my pregnancy. Will this help?
Yes, it is one of the most common reasons women come to us. Pregnancy and childbirth put the pelvic floor under great strain and it is sometimes left weakened. Rehabilitation is usually a very effective first line in these cases.
I do not have incontinence, it is “just a few drops”.
Those drops are a form of leaking too and deserve the same attention. It is not something you have to accept as normal, and dealing with it early is usually simpler and works better.
I leak a little when I sneeze or exercise. Is that incontinence?
Yes. Leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, run or jump is almost always stress urinary incontinence: when pressure on the bladder rises, the pelvic floor does not close in time. It is the most common type in women and the one clinical guidelines recommend treating first with pelvic floor physiotherapy, before any surgery. Whether it is a few drops or a larger leak, in the trial session we measure how much strength and control you have and tell you what to expect.
I have a prolapse. Does this help too?
Prolapse and leaks often go together. There are different ways to approach it depending on the type and the degree. In your trial session we assess your case and advise you on the most suitable route, always with a professional assessment.
My doctor said I need surgery.
Surgery is a valid option and has its own medical indications. Our recommendation is to exhaust the conservative approach first. Pelvic floor physiotherapy and PelviX™ usually give good results and are a reasonable step beforehand. If you want another view before deciding, our gynaecologist can give you a second opinion.
If I do nothing now, can it get worse?
Many pelvic floor conditions tend to progress over time if they are not addressed. The good news is that acting early is usually simpler and works better.
Do I need to prepare beforehand?
No. If you have related test results, bring them. We give you any specific instructions when you confirm your appointment. If you are menstruating that day, we simply reschedule.
Where is the clinic?
At Av. Presidente Kennedy 5488, Torre Norte, offices 1405, 503 and 1402, Vitacura, a short walk from Parque Arauco. There is parking on Kennedy Lateral, next to the Getit minimarket. Read more about our pelvic floor clinic in Vitacura.
How much is the trial session?
The trial session costs CLP 29,000 and includes your first PelviX™ session, a body composition measurement with the InBody 270, an Alonea assessment of your control, and a personalised action plan. It's reimbursable through your Isapre if you come with a doctor's order (itemized receipt with the service code).
Does my Isapre cover it?
Yes: we issue an itemized receipt with the service code, accepted by Isapres and supplemental insurers. As a reference, Isapre plus supplemental can cover up to 90% (a copay near CLP 2,900), Isapre alone up to 70% (~CLP 8,700), and Fonasa plus supplemental up to 40% (~CLP 17,400). These are reference averages: they vary by plan.
How many sessions do I need?
The Eleven PelviX™ programme runs to 10 sessions over 45 days, 60 minutes each: 40 minutes of physiotherapy with manual technique and 20 minutes of PelviX™ EMF. Afterwards, if you want to hold the result, there is Maintain, with 8 PelviX™ sessions and 2 nutrition consultations a month.
Does it hurt?
No. The PelviX™ session is done fully clothed, sitting in the chair, with no needles and no preparation. You feel the pelvic floor contracting, not pain. The physiotherapy assessment with manual technique can create some passing tenderness, but the work always stays within your tolerance and is adjusted with you as it happens.
What if I am pregnant?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications for PelviX™, and functional magnetic stimulation is not applied during that period. You can see the full detail in our contraindications section. If you want to look after your pelvic floor during or after pregnancy, get in touch and we will advise you on the right time to start.
Can incontinence be cured?
It depends on the cause and the degree. Many women get the leaks under control and see clear improvement with the combination of physiotherapy and PelviX™. In more advanced cases the treatment is the foundation of a wider plan. In your trial session we assess your case and tell you what to expect, without generic promises.
Do you treat men?
Today PelviX™ is designed and presented for women. If you are looking for a metabolic programme, Fat Burner™ is open to men and women. If your enquiry is about male incontinence, after prostate surgery for example, write to us and we will assess your case directly, outside the current programme.
What if I cannot make my appointment?
Let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we reschedule at no cost. If you do not turn up and did not tell us, the trial session is lost, because we hold the room and organise the team to see you at that time. If you are menstruating that day, we reschedule at no cost.
How is it different from the Emsella chair?
Both are functional magnetic stimulation chairs for the pelvic floor. PelviX™ uses PelviPower technology (PonteMed AG, Switzerland) and includes clinical support in every session: one-to-one physiotherapy, body composition measurement and follow-up with Alonea. We do not compare figures between brands; in your trial session we show you how ours works.
Do I need to see a urogynaecologist first?
Not necessarily, but sometimes yes. Pelvic floor rehabilitation is one of the first-line options for stress and mixed incontinence, so you can start with the physiotherapist's assessment. The Spark pathway includes a consultation with Dr. Javiera Zúñiga, gynaecologist, who also issues the medical order for your reimbursement. If you have blood in your urine, pain when urinating, recurrent urinary infections, an advanced prolapse or an urgency you cannot control, a specific medical assessment comes first: we tell you at the trial session and refer you.
Is PelviX™ a medical device or a treatment on its own?
PelviX™ is a functional magnetic stimulation chair made by PonteMed AG (Switzerland) under the PelviPower™ brand. It is not a treatment on its own and does not replace clinical assessment: at Spark it is 20 minutes inside a one-to-one pelvic floor physiotherapy hour, with assessment by a specialist physiotherapist, a gynaecology consultation when appropriate and measurement at the start and at the end. The judgement, the indication and the progression belong to the professionals, not to the machine.
Who cannot use PelviX™?
- A pacemaker or other implanted electronic device
- Metal implants in the pelvis, lower back or hip
- A metal or copper IUD
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Epilepsy or another seizure disorder
- Active cancer
- Anticoagulant treatment or a clotting disorder
A preliminary list, based on the usual contraindications for magnetic stimulation. The definitive version follows the PelviPower instructions for use (PonteMed AG) and the review of our Clinical Director. If in any doubt, check with your doctor. We assess every case before the first session.
